In 2013, Frank Albrecht of Rock Hard Magazine captured the essence of Slaughterday’s sound when he reviewed their debut album — a masterful fusion of crushing riffs, morbid melodies, and hauntingly memorable choruses inspired by death metal pioneers such as Autopsy, Death, and Massacre.

Following the success of their Cosmic Horror demo, the duo Bernd Reiners and Jens Finger unleashed Nightmare Vortex, a debut that won over both fans and critics. The album earned them a place in Rock Hard’s “10 x Dynamit” feature and secured third place in Legacy Magazine’s overall ranking.

With the Ravenous EP and their second full-length, Laws of the Occult, Slaughterday refined their signature blend of classic death metal ferocity and dark, infectious groove, solidifying their position among Germany’s leading death metal acts. Their Abattoir EP expanded their range further, merging doom-laden atmospheres with sudden bursts of speed and violence.

The acclaimed Ancient Death Triumph distilled their craft into a potent homage to early death metal’s golden era — invoking the raw spirit of Mental Funeral, From Beyond, and Leprosy. Its successor, Tyrants of Doom, elevated the band even higher, praised by critics and fans alike for its seamless fusion of early ’90s death metal and traditional heavy metal sensibilities.

Their 7″ single Terrified pays tribute to the primal roots of grindcore, channeling the raw energy of Repulsion and Napalm Death.

Renowned for their uncompromising sound and commanding live performances, Slaughterday have left their mark on stages across Europe, appearing at festivals such as Summer Breeze, Party.San, Metal Bash, Braincrusher Festival, Schoonebeek Deathfest, Pitfest, and many more.
